About This Website
- This web site was created (finally!) in response to many requests for the author's "Out of Control" cartoons that appeared in the IEEE Control Systems Magazine (CSM) during 1985-1994, as well as requests for the short book "A Cartoon Tour of Control Theory" which has been around for a while in hard-copy format.
- The original motivation for the cartoons was to reduce the drab factor in the author's technical presentations and to keep his audiences awake (it worked- sort of).
- The book "A Cartoon Tour of Control Theory: Part I- Classical Controls" was first created as a 90-minute presentation given by the author for introducing controls to non-specialist engineers, scientists, and students.

"Out of Control" Cartoons 1-68 were published in the CSM during 1985-94. New/previously unpublished cartoons (No. 69 onward) will continue to be added. Future plans also include Part II of the "Cartoon Tour".
